EGON MAHR
Egon Mahr

In his 27 years as a professional pilot, Egon has logged over 13,500 hours of flight. He has been flying since the age of nine and after gaining his Private Pilots Licence aged 17, joined the Royal Australian Airforce as a pilot. He served for eight and a half years during which he flew the BAC1-11 in the VIP Transport role. He also flew the HS748 as a Check Captain, the Macchi MB 326H and the Winjeel as a Forward Air Controller.

Egon commenced employment with a major Australian Airline in 1988 and after 5 years as a Captain on the Boeing 747 transfered to command on the Airbus A330.

In his spare time he has been involved in competition aerobatics, airshow display flying and warbird flying.

He co-founded Highland Warbirds with Sharyn in 2004 and flies both the Russian Yak and Chinese Nanchang on company operations.


 

 


STEVE WRIGHT

Steve has extensive Military and Civil Flying experience totaling about 13,500 hrs. From 1976 to 1980 he flew the DeHaviland Canada Caribou transport in the Tactical transport role, operating in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

He then specialised as a Military Flying Instructor flying the Macchi MB326H, CT4A and Northrop T-38A Talon (on exchange duties with the USAF).

Before joining a major Australian airline, Steve worked as a Flying Instructor in Canberra.  Since 1988 he has operated most Boeing 747 variants and is currently a Captain on the Airbus A330.

On his days off, Steve also flies our YAK-52.


SHARYN MOULE
Sharyn Moule
Sharyn is a School Teacher by profession. As co-founder of Highland Warbirds, she is responsible for administrative operations of the company and also takes part in coordinating ground operations.

NICK MAHR
Nick Mahr
Nick’s area of responsibility is for the safety of all ground operations. He also assists in aircraft preparation, safety briefings and refuelling operations.
